David Mew
David Mew is a cybersecurity professional supporting the U.S. Department of Education’s Federal Student Aid program. A retired Chief Warrant Officer with a background in information protection, he now focuses on securing federal systems and mentoring the next generation of professionals.
My Story
Outside of cybersecurity, David is a committed advocate for youth and underserved communities. In 2024, he launched the Manhood Tour and Womanhood Tour—Augusta, Georgia’s first court-ordered diversion program for justice-involved individuals. These peer-led programs provide education in mental health, financial literacy, life skills, and career development to help participants build stability and purpose.
David’s drive to serve comes from personal experience. He overcame a childhood marked by instability, incarceration, and trauma—becoming the first in his family to graduate from college and choosing a life of service and leadership. His story fuels his passion for helping others rebuild after hardship and break cycles through opportunity and support.
A proud father and man of faith, David leads with resilience, empathy, and a deep belief in second chances—both in the community and in the workplace.
